We had ordered an item from this shop with our last few remaining hours on the island. We went in store and and the salesperson, B for Lindsay Inoue (as written on our sales receipt), assured us that our purchase would arrive at our home in Canada within 3 weeks. After 4 weeks had passed, I decided to contact the gallery to find some information on our purchase.
Let's just say their ridiculous excuse was true and their only warehouse guy was sick, which caused everything to come to a stand still, no one emailed me or contacted me to let me know that there will be a delay. I had to seek that information out myself. Something that should have arrived within 3 weeks will take over a month and half to arrive (possibly).
No one picks up the phone. Ever. I also left an email which garnered a reply 2 days later on a Friday. Stating that a warehouse worker was sick so things had been backed up, she said that things have been caught up and would be back to normal. The person I had emailed, Lee, assured me that she would get a tracking number form the owner as she was just an off site customer service person, by the latest on Monday. No such tracking number arrived. It took 2 weeks of calling, leaving messages and emails to finally get a tracking number. If the tracking number and info is correct, it will be 7 weeks from purchase for the item to arrive. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if this was an incorrect number to appease me for the time being.
If anything, I would like to comment that Lee did all that she could do to get my item to me while she was deathly ill. The owner lacks any sort of professionalism or business acumen and should not be curating anyone's art. If you are a purchaser, if you're going to take it home with you on the spot, then sure, go for it. If you're ordering online or getting something shipped. Don't bother.
If you're an artist, I would think twice about having your items in this shop. To have this type of business represent your art?
As this was the last thing I did on my trip to Maui (for the first time I might add) it has left a bad aftertaste and I will not return unless it is for business.
