I brought my car here from Florida. My 3rd vehicle. Before you come here watch the Seinfeld episode "Soup Nazi" to understand that there is a process in order here. And you must follow prodedures or you will be rejected and dismissed.
Very fast, I didn't have a problem. I saw a lot of negative reviews but I was recommended by a friend to go there. Just have all your paperwork in order, everything working that's all you need to do. If you don't pass ask for a list of things that need to be fixed... all of them that way you don't need to keep on coming back and waste time. That's all I got to say:)
Seriously though He was able to inspect my Maserati flawlessly and quicky. He was able to figure out things with the car faster than most exotics car mechanics that worked on it such as gear selection (F1 Tranny) and hood opening etc...also I saw him help an old lady get her walker out as well as her documents. He is SUPER BUSY and a hard worker constantly moving .
6. Properly stand in line while keeping cell phone use as inaudible as possible. Maybe consider only texting.

Took all my vehicles and trailers to Allstar for 3 years...I can tolerate the ridiculous rudeness but he stepped over my line today...He actually scolded me by telling me that one of my trailer tires was too worn that I would ultimately “kill some kid” and he would lose his license! Recommending to get another tire would have been sufficient...He also said I wouldn’t be able to bribe him which has NEVER entered my mind! He then just stormed away without even giving me a rejection so I could fix the problem! He’s not worth the sweat off my balls! In 3 years I’ve never disrespected him...
1. Have all your original documents in order
BUSINESS OWNER: You have yourself a very efficient and EFFECTIVE inspector in your All Star Garage. He is definitly overworked doing everything himself so for those that complain have some empathy for him and stop complaining or go somewhere else. I came here from the mainland to get away from all the high demanders and complainers so just leave it back in the other 49 states.
Zero stars if it were at all possible. Most hateful, rude, hostile experience I have ever had with a business, bar none. Tried to get a safety check twice here and the "owner" was the most unhelpful, unhappy little person I think I have ever met. The first time around I was informed in the rudest possible way that my insurance did not have Hawaii printed on it, even though we are covered here. Fair enough, I understood he has regulations he has to abide by so I went and got that sorted out. Thought I probably shouldn't go back, something definitely wrong there, his eyes were bulging out of his head to the point that I thought maybe he had a some kind of medical condition so gave him the benefit of the doubt, figured he was busy, had a tough day, etc. Second time around he abruptly says "you gotta go get a temporary registration first at the DMV before I do anything, which I knew was not true per the DMV and from other businesses that do safety checks, this as he puts my paperwork, including the title to my vehicle which is attached to the registration, on his desk. I said give me the paperwork back, I wasn't about to put up with this kind of treatment as a customer, he looked so tweaked I thought he was going to have a stroke. His last words as I walked out to the car were to "go back to where you came from"! Not going to do that but went to another local business that had the patience to kindly explain how to get this done and got me in and out in 15 minutes, awesome as can be. If you are trying to register an out of state vehicle here in Hawaii you are not welcome at this business. This guy is the only locally owned business that we have ever had a bad experience with in Hawaii, he is an insult to all the people on the island who go to work everyday and have something decent to offer the world. Avoid this place like the plague, this person does not want or need your business. I wouldn't even go here if I were a local.
