Ken catered our intimate wedding of 20 guests in Huelo on a private estate. Ken was willing to do whatever it took to make our wedding even better than we imagined. Ken provided us with linens, plates, silverware, glassware, a bartender and servers. We didn't have to worry about anything. Ken came all the way out to the venue site (about an hour and half from his home)-for a site inspection months before the wedding, he met with us face to face prior to the wedding to go over all the menu ideas. We didn't really have any ideas-Ken wasn't fazed and he had plenty of ideas for us! The guests at the wedding raved about the food, many said it was the "best wedding food" they have ever eaten. Ken made his personal sized Kihei Key Lime Pies for desert-OMG, a must have if Ken is catering for you! My brother is getting married in Michigan in May, he is seriously considering flying Ken out to do his catering-now if that doesn't say something about the food quality I don't know what does! Basically the service and the food are beyond what you expect. I would highly recommend Ken to anyone planning an event.
Ken catered our mother's birthday party at Wailea Elua Village. We had plenty of responses to our request for help and chose Ken because he's a chef who knows how to run a business. Of course we did not know how great a chef Ken was until the night of the party. Everyone agreed that the dinner was better than the night before at the Four Season's Spago restaurant. It was the kind of dinner where you keep eating long past when you knew you were full. Ken and his assistant, Berlin, provided great service. Glasses and plates were kept full the entire evening, and at the end everything was cleaned up and packed away. We highly recommend Ken, especially to those of you planning your event from thousands of miles away. He takes care of it all!
I used Ken's services to surprise my wife for her birthday. It was the best birthday she's ever had! We arrived on the grassy knoll at Wailea beach and the table was beautifully set up and ready for us. We each got a salad, an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. The food was absolutely delicious and all of the ingredients tasted fresh. Ken said that the fish was caught earlier that day. My steak and lobster was amazing. The service was incredible and Ken was a good conversationalist, sharing his experiences in Maui with us. The highlight of the dinner was watching the sunset...it was one of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. We would not change a thing about the evening and would highly recommend Ken.
Ken catered our wedding dinner on the beach. It was fantastic, steak and lobster. Both local, and he told the stories about the food. He came up with a local mushroom sauce for the top of the steaks, and it was great. Plus he's fun to talk to.
