A great spot to learn how to surf. Friendly locals helped us on more than one occasion.
This photo of a paddle surfer enjoying a wonderful sunset from the point on the south end of Cove Beach Park.
Great for residents & visitors. Lots of surf schools & water activities
This is the little park, only big enough for ten cars- not Kalama park as some seem to be getting confused with. This little park is wonderful for sunsets and fishing - at least until the locals bullied us out of the park. There are five fishing rod holders off the fence by the water. My husband and I seated with a fishing rod holder between us while he prepared his pole. A local with his teeth missing, long hair and tattoos rudely walked up directly between us and put his pole in the holder. When my husband said "I was going to use that?" The local replied, "I built these. This is mine. I built this whole park." We looked back to see seven locals had entered the park and were setting up fishing poles all around us. My husband was told 'Not to cross their lines', but their lines were taking up all the space. They were hanging out together around a picnic table. It was quite obvious we were not welcome. They were trying to intimidate us, realizing the local had no front teeth and had obviously fought before, I convinced my husband to fish around the corner at Kalama Beach park.
Great nice surf spot and great for kids!
Great place for the whole family. Aloha Surf School has awesome instructors for surf lessons in the perfect place to learn no matter your age! Would recommend water slippas as spots can be pretty rocky.
