Dr. Young makes a small incision on the inside of your wrist, right in a fold, and uses a different type of suture that doesnt leave stitch scars. Ive had carpel tunnel syndrome (CTS)for several decades. I finally addressed it and got referred to several experts who confirmed CTS and basically said it was at a severity where surgical correction was warranted. So naturally, I google all the things about CTRelease, CTR. There are some nightmare stories about how surgery made the CTS worse. So, fearing this, I decided to postpone surgery and try therapy. I went to Dr. Young, who my primary physician said was the best for CTS. Dr. Young referred me to Greg, at Maui Hand Therapy, who were amazing. The therapy helped a little but they highly recommended the surgery by Dr. Young. Basically saying that he has done so many of the CTR surgeries and as long as you follow recovery instructions, your CTS issues would be significantly improved or cured. Well, I finally went through with it. Best decision ever. That night, my fingers were numb. I checked with my hand therapist Greg, and he said it was normal, numbness will go away in a few days. Second day, numbness went away in 3 of the 5 fingers. Fourth day, the fourth finger was normal. A week later, all fingers were without any numbness. But, the biggest improvement was the night after the surgery and every night since, no tingling i my thumb!!!!! No hand support. Believe me, after living with CTS for nearly 30 years, not having the tingling is such a huge relief. Dr. Young delivered. He is very straight-forward in his approach, and leaves it all up to you if you want to do the surgery or not. No pressure. This Dr's. experience and track record speaks for itself. Just make an appointment with him and talk to the patients in the waiting room. They will share their experience with you.
If you want to resolve your CTS, your best bet is to let Dr. Young evaluate you and give you the treatment he thinks is best for you. His name he uses "Genesis" is very appropriate. You will not be disappointed. His staff are very professional and very nice. I highly recommend Dr. Scott "Genesis" Young.
