This was and always will be my favorite beach on Maui! We had our wedding here early morning and I can see why others choose to do so. It's absolutely gorgeous! We came back to watch the sunset on our last night and it was equally as beautiful as day time. Even if it's a small beach it's worth it.
My wife and I were married here ten years ago and there has been a ton of erosion to the amount of sand on this beach in the interim. The exposed lava rock definitely adds to the character of this place, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's all lava rock in another ten years.
Makena Cove (Secret Beach/Wedding Beach) is a fantastic little beach. Great for snorkeling and a little swimming.

Stunning little hideaway that used to be a better secret. It seems like this beach will be overrun before long.
Small, secluded beach/cove. Could feel busy if a few too many people show up at once. Watch for the volcanic rock, it can be quite sharp if barefoot!
