Restaurant is located upstairs in the Wailea Gateway Center. Usually crowded with tourists and locals alike... came here several times... for dinner, as well as happy hour specials.
Tried all the vegetarian options including the pumpkin tacos, pizzas, all the salads, garlic truffle fries, and coco corn chowder... was not overly impressed especially for a restaurant with high ratings. Average at best... However, the service was good.
Food was expensive but very well made and tasty. If you get a sandwich definitely opt for the $2 fries. Just a sandwich probably won't fill you up. Fish tacos were amazing but definitely get the jalapenos on the side.
Monkeypod is a rare combination of creative, delicious, incredibly fresh fare that is also affordable (for Hawaii, anyway). Cocktails are equally unique, with spins on the Mai Tai and from scratch recipes that will leave your head spinning, if you're not careful. Mix this all together with beautifully decorated indoor and outdoor dining rooms, fantastic service and nightly live music and you have a winner. Finally, don't skip desert... The pies are to die for.

All in all very pleased with our experience. Biggest negative was price but at least you feel like you get your money's worth while you're there.
The ambiance was very welcoming and the live music they had was also great.
This is a great place for adults or families! They've got something for everyone. The service is absolutely spectacular. Our waitress was really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She even gave us food recommendations that improved certain dishes!
I highly recommend Monkeypod and plan to visit again very soon.

We ate here around 3pm on our last day in Maui and the service was spectacular. We sat outside and Quinn was our waiter. He was very knowledgeable about each dish and even brought us damp napkins for after our messy sandwiches. He was friendly to chat with. After finding out it was our final day of vacation he got us a huge piece of pie! Best service we've ever had, hands down. I'd recommend this place to anyone!
The food is absolutely amazing! The fish and steak are to die for. The atmosphere is awesome especially out on the patio, lots of foliage and a water feature. Our waitress was great, very friendly and laid back. She was very informed about the menu and even answered some questions we had about Maui. Highly recommended if you want a good dinner out!
