Rack of lamb was impressive. I often order this dish when I go out to eat- by far the most quantity of lamb I've ever been served. Sauces and sides were spot on. My husband got the Ahi. Fish was cooked perfectly. Nice portion, very tender- melts in your mouth. The crispy veggies were good. The flavoring could have tweaked just a bit but otherwise a very good dish as well. We were too full for dessert but I wanted to try the strawberry panzini.
The disappointing part was sitting next to the bar where a patron was telling several racist jokes, each joke being high fived be the bar tender. Maybe the bar tender was just out for a good tip from a drunk patron, but it seems a bit off for a high end hotel staff member to high five a racist joke.
The food was pretty good. Probably not worth the price though.
Atmosphere is nice.
Went for a honeymoon dinner. When we made the reservation they had asked if we were celebrating anything. We told them it was our honeymoon. They did not do anything special. Servers appeared to be in a rush to close for the evening. Our reservation was for 8:30pm. Felt pressured. Maybe if we ate at 6pm we would have had a better experience. Clam chowder soup was cold and our salad seemed to be made well in advanced. Food is not worth the price. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Mahalo
Great ambiance, attentive wait staff, seated immediately, food was great. Should drop one star for price if that's important to you- prices are on the higher side even for Maui. We got the crab cake appetizer, rack of lamb and ahi entrees. Crab cakes had a great flavor, soft, lots of crab. Served on a tomato paste type sauce. Needed more relish sauce on side, didn't think the tomato based sauce complimented the dish that well. My only complaint is you only get 2.
This place is remarkable! The outdoor seating, the presentation of the entree's, and of course, the flavors was exceptional. The staff we're friendly and helpful.
Aloha,
We went here by recommendation from our hotel for the oysters on the half shelf. They are topped with ahi tuna. 5 stars for the oysters even though they are pricey ( $28 for 6). However, this was by far the WORST meal and most expensive we have had in Maui. SO DISAPPOINTED. I ordered the Scallops and Pork with adobe sauce and the scallops were too chewy and the pork belly wasn’t edible. My husband had the Mahi Mahi and that was mediocre at best. A positive thing was that the service was great. The waiter offered to take my meal back and they brought out a dessert for my birthday. Another thing is to AVOID the photographer unless you want to pay $20 for the photo, but I’m sure you could get it for $10. Not to mention it CHEAPENS the overall experience. I do have to say that the hotel grounds by the ocean are beautiful. But for the same price, an even more beautiful hotel, and exceptional service you can get much higher quality meals at the Four Seasons next door.
