Misdiagnosed severe pneumonia.
One X-Ray and 15 minutes later the Dr is pointing out severe pneumonia in his left lung and how he had a 50/50 shot of surviving the following week. Gave him the strongest antibiotics he had, and he started to feel better 6 days into the treatment. She definitely made our trip to Maui "memorable". I would go elsewhere if you are hoping not to die on your holiday to Maui.
The older German female Dr. told my partner that he was suffering from a nasty virus. Came back 3 days later and she again said the same. I pressed her to tell me how she can be so sure and she lied to me telling me that she sent his sample to the lab. She went on about how the over-prescribing of antibiotics leads to antibiotic-resistant illnesses and would not prescribe it to my parter. I knew something was very wrong so the next day I took him elsewhere.
We went to the Kihei facility. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, efficient and accomodating. Glad they are in Kihei.
Physician Maxi West is fantastic. The receptionists are just very poor at scheduling. They take walk-ins and often make them wait very long amounts of time. Dont try to cram everyone into one day. I have yet to come here and not see atleast 2 people pissed off and yelling. Other than that, this place is great.
