Staying at Ocean breeze was such a wonderful experience. Sande and Bob will make you feel completely comfortable and well taken care of. Their knowledge of the island helps you fully experience it. My favorite room was the ocean room with its blue accents and access to its own Lanai with fountain, a nice place to relax and enjoy some quiet time. The breakfasts were also enjoyable with fresh fruit from the island! Overall a very lovely experience.
I have stayed a few times at this wonderful B&B and thought it was time to write a review. The owners, Sande and Bob, are a lovely couple who make you feel very much at home. They know the island intimately and if you want help in planning things to do, they'll have all sort of ideas based on your interests. There are only 2 rooms at the B&B each with their own off street parking and entrance. You won't see the people in the other room other than at breakfast. The B&B is in a neighborhood about a 5 minute drive from a lovely beach that I like to walk in the mornings. These rooms book fast so plan ahead. I've stayed in both and found them each very comfortable. The Coral room is larger with a king bed, A/C (not that you need it) and a full bathroom/tub down a short hallway. It has a private lanai. The Ocean room has a queen sized bed, smaller bathroom with shower and two lanias with sliding glass doors. Both rooms have ceiling fans, coffee makers, plates, glasses, silverware, coffee cups and small refrigerators. You can use the microwave in the kitchen to reheat your leftovers. However you can't cook meals. Filtered drinking water is available at the kitchen sink and you can take ice from the main house freezer. Breakfasts are very yummy. The usual coffee, tea and juice are provided but Bob and Sande mix up the breakfasts where one morning there will be banana bread or scones or coconut muffins or bagels with cream cheese or perhaps a delicious fruit smoothie. Yogurt, cereal (granola & corn flake types), butter, a couple of different jams and a beautifully presented fruit platter. If you leave hungry it isn't because they didn't feed you. LOL! If you decide to do the road to Hana or drive up Haleakala for sunrise, they'll leave a breakfast in your refrigerator...just need to let them know the day before so they can do that for you. Oh and there are a couple of heavier jackets in the closets for the Haleakala morning activity. It's very cold at 10,000 ft on that mountain but the sunrise is spectacular. Beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, small cooler and a beach umbrella for each unit are also provided. They have thought of everything!! I look forward to a return visit.
If you're looking for a relaxing and more private alternative to a hectic resort, look no further! Ocean Breeze Hideaway is a lovely oasis in a quiet residential neighborhood 5 minutes from a great beach. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. The tropical continental breakfast is very tasty, and the inn keepers are excellent guides for what to see and do on Maui. I'll definitely return!
We stayed in the Ocean Room which is located in the host's home in a residential area. No A/C available but a ceiling and portable fans are provided. The room had 2 screen doors which both needed to be opened all night to cool the room. We found bugs on several occasion in the room, bathroom and closet. I tried not to make a big deal as my friend was deadly afraid of them so I pretended like there was nothing there and killed everything before she noticed. The breakfast was my favourite part, beautiful set up on their lanai. They also provided us with packed breakfasts for days we had to leave early in our personal fridge. The hosts are great people and extremely friendly with great suggestions for restaurants and tourist tips.
Great place to stay!! The location is excellent. It is very close to wonderful beaches, restaurants, ect., and is a great starting point for exploring the rest of Maui. We enjoyed having a nice, clean, quiet place to wind down each day. We can't say enough about how warm & welcoming Bob and Sande were. They went above & beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay, and were excellent hosts providing delicious breakfasts, answering questions, & giving information on activities to enhance our stay on the wonderful island of Maui. Sande even packed breakfasts for our early morning excursions!! We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others!!
