Went on 2 tank boat dive yesterday (6/22/16) - boat crew was very helpful, both with water entry and exit - good boat handling skills, and assistance getting up on boat out of water, changing out gear on tanks, etc. Nice snack and drinks during breaks from diving too. Our underwater guide was Rivers, who did an excellent job helping us to see the sights, as well an monitoring the divers and making sure everyone stayed safe.

Maui Dive shop had a 5 star review until today when they canceled my dive for tomorrow. I would have appreciated a heads up yesterday when I dove with them, if they didn't think they would have enough divers. No help finding an alternative dive company. This was my only other day to dive while in Maui. I booked this dive weeks ago for their planning. I wish they would have appreciated my schedule for my planning.

STOP DO NOT PROCEED!!!! They don’t care about you. They are lazy pot heads. They cancelled on my son stating too much chop. Over heard manager telling dive guy I wouldn’t waste my time with only two students either. Check weather and another dive shop perfect conditions!!! They will ruin your 6000 vacation, they don’t care

Absolutely amazing experience with these guys. Fantastic service, well worth the extra $$$, will definitely dive with them again. They serve bacon, eggs, fruit and pastry for breakfast (they had me at bacon), and sandwiches and salad with veg for lunch. I am a safety professional and their level of safety, and care for their customers was exceptional. Molokini was awesome, will do it again next visit. Thanks guys!

Although I went in with some apprehension, Scuba Diving was on my bucket list. Unfortunatly, it still is as I don't consider my experience with the Maui Dive Shop successful. The employees are very nice. I told them I was concerned that I may feel clostophobic about breathing underwater as it is not something my mind would easily accept. They seemed empathetic and gave me a sense of security that they would work with me to help me feel comfortable. Jack, the dive instructor even said on the morning of the dive that "that was all that on his schedule for the day, so take as much time you need." Sadly, That was NOT the case. Unfortunately, my husband and I were paired with a couple of younger athletes who gained comfort underwater quicker than we did. My husbands mask didn't seal well around his mustache and allowed water in. He quit because of it. I stuck it out longer, because I really wanted to conquer my fear and managed to do three of the skills - regulator purging by both methods, and regulator recovery. I never got to try the "mask empty" skill. Jack was wanting us to stay down longer than I was comfortable with and we felt like I was being rushed and we were holding the other couple back, so we quit. Not because we couldn't do it, but because we felt rushed. So be sure to find out in advance, before spending the money, how many will be in your group and who you'll be paired with. Also ask about "the rules" as I found them prohibitive. You're not allowed to swim along the surface, as in a snorkeling position, with you face in the water, gaining comfort breathing underwater while feeling the sense of security that you damn simply pick your head up because "that's against the rules." Also, everyone has to be above water, or everyone has to be below water. While I guess it makes sense from a safety perspective, it created problems for us as we were learning and gaining comfort at different speeds. We're not used to being the "weak links" but. we were in this situation and we kinda felt "kicked to the curb." I was in the water for less than an hour and used less than 1/3 of my first tank of air. Not really much time to do something so drastically different than what you're used to.
