I booked the Makena/Wailea Kayak and Snorkeling Eco-Tour for my boyfriend and I. We had the most INCREDIBLE experience I could have imagined.
We had an absolute blast with Rama! We were all newbies but we did the kayak/snorkeling combo. He took us to an area where we were the only people! The Turtles were amazing!
Our tour guide (as well as sea life and Maui expert) John made the adventure super fun and educational. He took us to a couple different snorkeling spots and gave us plenty of time to swim with nearly a dozen green sea turtles. He even found us an octopus to ogle at.
In between entertaining/caring for everyone else in our group, he even showed me how to free-dive -- something I've been wanting to try for awhile.
John is a complete pro all across the board. I seriously cannot recommend him and Maui Kayaks enough.
Great experience! Our guide John was very informative and made sure everyone was in sync and had a good time. We got to see plenty of turtles and fish. Be prepared for an arm work out!
My husband and I had a blast. Our tour Guide, John, was so friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful. I would definitely go back. Ask for John!
Note: If you decide to do this and are nearsighted, consider renting prescription snorkel masks from one of the shops in town. Definitely worth it!
My boyfriend and I did a LOT of activities while on vacation, including snuba, jet ski and parasail. This was by far the most memorable.
We took the 2 1/2 hour Turtle Town kayak and snorkel tour and enjoyed every minute. The tour was preceded by a 30 minute primer. John, our guide, did a great job explaining the basics of ocean kayaking. He led us through the reef where we saw probably a dozen sea turtles, plus octopus, starfish and a variety of other fish. The water was so clear! A truly memorable experience.
John offered to take photos for a reasonable fee, and I'm so glad I took him up on it. He's a talented photographer too and took the time to edit the images before he sent them over.
