Great convenient location with lots if good and shopping right across the street. Lots of free parking. Busy with surfer and paddle board lessons in the cove. Sand is rough here and can be rocky in spots
Well-kept dog-friendly park with a tiny strip of beach for those who are looking to get wet. We ate a late lunch at Paia across the street, walked across the street to this beach, and basically were the only ones swimming in the water! Turtle sightings were definitely going on, and we witnessed such a colorful sunset. There weren't many people in the water, so this park is more for those who want to dip their toes in and slowly walk around. There are public restrooms, but no foot showers, and tons of parking.
How could you go wrong at any park on the ocean on Maui?! Kalama Park offers many amenities including skating, restrooms, generous parking, large trees and grass with several picnic pavilions and so much more. While I was there this morning just walking on some of the sidewalks I was able to watch three turtles eating off the rocks!
Always love bringing the kids here. Great for kids of all ages, including teens as there is a skate park. Nice fishing spots, beach access, restrooms and parking. A favorite of both locals and tourists. Play area can get really hot as there is no cover on play ground.
There does tend to be a few homeless people hanging around and there’s a sense that some upkeep and cleanliness would be helpful, hence the 4 star rating.
Had a great time walking the dog and then we sit under a shade tree and enjoyed the ocean view. My wife and I were dressed in red and green and wearing my santa hat. Had scooter our chihuahua with us and a few tourist stopped by an ask if they could take a picture of course I said yes lol.
