This is a beautiful sanctuary. My children LIVE to go here to explore and learn about all the protected species of wildlife.
Super windy so be careful if wearing a hat (or sundress, like me). The birds were few but what we did see were very nice. The bird walk was in great shape and the signs were helpful to learn about the wildlife. There were nesting birds. The Oceanside was just a quick walk.
Not to much to see without binoculars. Can access the beach easily. I saw some endangered birds
The side of the wildlife refuge with the board walk is the best side. Plenty of bird viewing and access to the beach. The boardwalk is well kept. There are no restrooms here. Near the visitor center (still closed as of August 2017) there is a small parking lot with portable toilets. This side is very muddy and requires boots to walk the majority of it.
Unless your fishing or planning on making a day of it 30 minutes max.
It's ok not much to see
